Tuesday May 31
We left Amarillo, TX early Tuesday morning to chase between Amarillo and Lubbock. From near the NM/TX border, we watched cumulus development around Clovis, NM eventually become the supercell that tracked southeast to Lubbock, TX. A great supercell with nice structure. It was nice to witness the whole initial cumulus-classic supercell-HP supercell-outflow/linear MCS evolution as we followed this storm southeastward. There were a few tornado reports with it northwest of Lubbock. We may have seen circulation at ground level as we set just west of Sudan, TX -- however our contrast was rather poor at this time. Will be curious to review our video.
I'll get pictures from the past several days posted soon.
Now back in Norman as of early Wednesday morning, with vacation quickly coming to an end. Although the pattern wasn't the best, we were generally in the "right spot" each day and made the most of it.
